Since 1997, the University Investors Association has done a lot to educate the community about the Markets, helped them invest their money, taught them about the importance of saving and generally imparted financial knowledge. While we have done our bit with the financial side of things, we’ve been lacking in our efforts to make a difference in our Global Community. This year, we decided that it is time we made amends and continue our leadership endeavors by setting an apt example by actively helping our community.
We have been looking for a worthy partner towards our philanthropic endeavors, and are delighted to present a formal alliance with Face AIDS (Austin). Face AIDS is a campaign to mobilize and inspire students to fight AIDS in Africa.
As per final discussions between the Executive Boards of both organizations, we have instituted a year-long partnership. The goal of the aforesaid alliance is for the UIA to donate $5 per membership dues as financial support for the Face AIDS campaign.
Representatives of Face AIDS will be invited to present at a UIA meeting to educate its members on the campaign’s history and the utilization of donated funds. Our members will get a chance to get more involved with Face AIDS as the year goes by. As a token of our involvement, we will present our first few paid members with a Face AIDS badge and card.
